Terms and conditions for using Yulai. Please read these terms carefully before using our service.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Yulai, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service. We recommend reading these terms carefully before creating an account. These terms were last updated in May 2026.
Service Description
Yulai is a personalized restaurant recommendation platform that uses an AI-powered recommendation algorithm to match users with dining experiences tailored to their individual taste preferences. The service is free for individual users. Our recommendations are generated based on your taste profile, dietary restrictions, and dining preferences. A premium subscription tier (Yulai+) is available for users who want unlimited recommendations and advanced discovery features.
User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it updated. You are responsible for all activities under your account. You may export your data or delete your account at any time directly through the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account). No email or external form is required.
Your Data and Privacy
By using Yulai, you grant us permission to collect and process your taste preferences, dietary restrictions, and dining history to provide personalized recommendations. We follow GDPR-compliant practices and a strict data minimization principle. Your individual data is never sold. Restaurant partners only receive anonymized, aggregated insights. Third-Party Data Sources
Restaurant location data displayed in Yulai is sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors and is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). This data includes restaurant names, addresses, coordinates, cuisine types, and operating hours. We also use Google Maps Platform for location services and Firebase Authentication for secure account management. By using our service, you acknowledge that restaurant information may be subject to change and should be verified directly with establishments.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Yulai only for lawful purposes. You may not use our service to harass, abuse, or harm others, distribute spam or malicious content, attempt to access other users' accounts, interfere with or disrupt our services, scrape or extract data from our platform, or use automated systems to access our platform without permission.
Restaurant Information
Restaurant information including menus, prices, hours, and availability is provided by restaurant partners and third-party data sources including OpenStreetMap. This information may change without notice. While we verify restaurant data during onboarding and conduct regular updates, we cannot guarantee complete accuracy at all times. We recommend confirming details directly with restaurants for time-sensitive reservations.
Recommendations and Allergies
Our AI-generated recommendations are based on the preferences you provide and our analysis of restaurant data. While we make every effort to account for dietary restrictions and allergies, you are ultimately responsible for verifying ingredient information with restaurants before ordering, especially for severe allergies. Our recommendations should not replace direct communication with restaurant staff about dietary needs. Yulai does not guarantee the accuracy of allergy or dietary information and shall not be held liable for allergic reactions or adverse health effects.
Subscriptions and Billing
Yulai offers a premium subscription tier called Yulai+, available on a monthly (€4.99/month) or annual (€39.99/year) basis. Subscriptions are billed in advance and auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. A 7-day free trial is offered for new Yulai+ subscribers; your payment method will be charged at the end of the trial period unless you cancel beforehand. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or the relevant app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). Refunds are handled in accordance with the applicable app store policies. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days notice to active subscribers.
Intellectual Property
Yulai and its content, features, and functionality including our AI recommendation algorithm, taste-matching system, and user interface are owned by Yulai and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission. Restaurant data sourced from OpenStreetMap is subject to the ODbL license and must be attributed accordingly.
Data Attribution
In accordance with the Open Database License (ODbL), we acknowledge that restaurant location data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors. OpenStreetMap data is open data, licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL) by the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF). You are free to copy, distribute, transmit and adapt our restaurant location data, as long as you credit OpenStreetMap and its contributors.
Disclaimers
Yulai is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that our recommendations will always match your preferences perfectly or that restaurant information will always be current. We continuously improve our AI to enhance recommendation accuracy, but dining experiences are subjective. Third-party data sources may contain errors or outdated information.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yulai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our service, including but not limited to unsatisfactory dining experiences, allergic reactions, food-related illnesses, or reliance on inaccurate restaurant information. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use our service (which is zero for individual users).
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms. You may also delete your account at any time directly through the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account). No email or external request is needed. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease, and we will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR requirements within 30 days.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany and the European Union, including GDPR. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Aachen, Germany. For EU consumers, this does not affect your statutory rights under your local consumer protection laws.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
